GeoScience Limited is an independent applied earth science consultancy, providing technical services to the oil & gas, geothermal and radioactive waste disposal industries around the world. We specialise in the characterisation of deep fractured systems and the management of stability problems in deep boreholes.

The company was formed in 1985, years before other companies started using 'geoscience' to describe their services. We are the original geoscience consultants and we have built our reputation on providing trustworthy, reliable, high quality engineering solutions to our clients' problems.

Many organisations are recognising an increasing need to understand fractured systems. It may be to explore and develop an oil, gas or geothermal reservoir. Or it may be to investigate a host rock for underground storage of gas or waste. The particular expertise required to collect the appropriate data and carry out credible interpretations is usually not present in-house.

GeoScience can help. Most of our highly qualified engineers have been working on fractured systems for twenty years and our experience is unrivalled in the UK.

In 1988 we pioneered the integration of drilling engineering, in-situ stress analysis and rock mass characterisation to predict the stability of wells with demanding trajectories. Since that time we have provided our clients with advice which has enabled them to reduce risk save many millions of dollars on their drilling programmes.

More recently we have developed Formation Water Services that take advantage of information which most oil and gas operators currently ignore. Millions of barrels of water are produced from oil wells every day and are subsequently disposed of. But interpretation of the composition of this water can be used to provide information on water sources, fluid movement, compartmentalisation and connectivity in a reservoir.

We also have an international pedigree in deep geotechnical investigations, primarily for radioactive waste disposal programmes and provide geothermal engineering support to clients in the UK and abroad.
