Reservoir Analogue Studies
A guiding hand........
Fractured reservoir appraisal and construction
of Fractured Reservoir Models for fractured reservoirs is a big challenge from 1D well data alone. The often high degree of heterogeneity in these reservoirs can make it difficult to predict the distribution of porosity and permeability in the system even where data are good.
Analogue data can provide a solution to your problem. Representative outcrops of reservoir rocks, or information culled from open-file sources describing similar reservoir contexts, can reduce uncertainties and increase confidence in your models.

GeoScience can guide your reservoir appraisal process with prudent application of analogue information. We can:
- Collect fracture data from outcrops representative of your reservoir. This would include information on fracture spacing, dimensions, block size and the controls on fracture distribution.
- Scope and supervise fracture petrography or dating programmes, and interpret the results. For example, to establish the fracture history or fault zone permeability.

- Extract key information from
published sources, for example, to determine porosity types and
associated value ranges.
- Evaluate analogue data and
integrate it into fracture reservoir models that describe fracture
distribution and connectivity.
- Interface with reserve
estimation and reservoir simulation requirements by recommending
model elements and associated parameter
values.
