The Team

GeoScience Limited has a small, highly qualified and experienced team of engineers, scientists and technicians. We can provide individual consultants or multi-disciplinary project teams to tackle problems professionally and confidentially.

Lucie Ayotte is an experienced mine geologist and hydrogeologist and now specialises in rock mechanics aspects of borehole stability, assisting technical specialists in determining mud weight profiles and deep geotechnical investigations. In addition to her rock mechanics work Lucie carries out hydrogeological modelling using MODFLOW.

Peter Azancot is a highly experienced well engineer and drilling operations manager. He now specialises in well design, operational well engineering, drilling project management and technical advice.

Dr Tony Batchelor has more than 30 years experience in applied rock mechanics, drilling engineering, geothermal development, project management and services to the oil & gas industry. Tony is the Managing Director and owner of GeoScience.

Lynda Chebbihi is a structural and sedimentological geologist with 10 years experience in reservoir characterisation and engineering. Before joining GeoScience in 2005 she worked with both service and oil companies, and now works on fractured reservoir characterisation projects involving analysis of core, image logs and other downhole data. She also carries out sedimentological studies and in-situ stress determination form image logs.

Alex Cook  is an engineering graduate from Camborne School of Mines who joined Geoscience in 2007 as a Technical Assistant working on rock mechanics aspects of borehole stability.

Dr Robin Curtis has more than 25 years experience in energy engineering, data acquisition, numerical modelling and low enthalpy geothermal systems. For the last 15 years he has pioneered the use of ground-coupled  heat pump systems in the UK and is Technical Manager of GeoScience subsidiary EarthEnergty Limited

Fritha Ellis  is an engineering graduate from Camborne School of Mines. She joined GeoScience as a Technical Assistant in June 2005 working on the rock mechanics aspects of borehole stability and assisting specialists to determine mud weight profiles.

Dr Zara Flynn  has 10 years experience in geomechanical modelling combined with geotechnical engineering, specialising in the path from fieldwork to the characterization of fractured rock masses to geomechanical modelling

Dr Andrew Foxford is a structural geologist with 6 years oil industry experience, specialising in fault and fracture characterisation from outcrop, well and field sources.

Jon Gutmanis is a structural geologist with 27 years experience in the hydrocarbons extraction, geothermal, and underground radioactive waste disposal industries. He is Chief Geologist and Manager of GeoScience's Fractured Reservoir Characterisation services, and he also leads the development and delivery of training courses and field trips in the characterisation and modeling of fractured hydrocarbon reservoirs.

Richard Hicks is an experienced offshore data engineer, who joined Geoscience in 2007 as a Technical Assistant working on rock mechanics aspects of borehole stability.

Peter Ledingham has 27 years experience in geothermal engineering, well testing, field data acquisition, deep geological investigations and project management. He is the Operations Director of GeoScience.

Sarah Marks  graduated from the Camborne School of Mines in 2004 and, having spent time offshore as a logging geologist, joined GeoScience in 2006 as a Technical Assistant, working on rock mechanics aspects of borehole stability and geomechanical modelling.

Dr Ross McCartney has 27 years experience in hydrochemistry in the oil & gas, radioactive waste disposal and geothermal industries. His expertise includes the interpretation of oilfield formation water and produced water analyses, geochemical modelling, water-rock interactions, fluid sampling and analyses and quality assessment of water analyses.

Richard Pearson has 29 years experience in geophysical wireline logging, production logging, log interpretation and quality management of field data acquisition. He has 25 years experience in the application of wireline data to geomechanics modelling and has been directly involved in the development of our borehole  geomechanics services.

Nathan Prior has 8 years experience as an offshore data engineer, unit manager and the rock mechanics aspects of borehole stability, deep geotechnical investigations and geomechanical modelling.

Anthony Proughten has 18 years experience in geological engineering, complex geological and geomechanical investigations, data interpretation, rock mass characterisation and geomechanical modelling.

Dr Colin Watson has 23 years experience as a geotechnical modeller specialising in applied rock mechanics, coupled heat and solute transport and hydro-mechanical processes in fracture network models.

Katy Whear holds an MSc in Mining Geology from Camborne School of Mines and joined Geoscience in 2007 as a Technical Assistant working on rock mechanics aspects of borehole stability.

We also have close working relationships with a number of specialists in related fields who augment our capability as required on a job by job basis
