Head of Administration, HR & Executive Personal Assistant
Marie joined GeoScience in April 2002 and is P.A. to the M.D. and Chairman. She is a girl with many hats, getting involved with anything and everything from making coffee/business lunches, to building bookcases. Whilst being at GeoScience she has trained to be CIPD qualified in order to look after our HR and staff. She likes to socialise, and organise lunches and get-togethers. She has a passion for training her rescue dog Brynn, walking on cliffs down in the far South West. She also plays Petanque and loves Portugal.
Karen started working as our Senior Accounts Clerk in January 2007.
Karen has a passion for things from a bygone age. She is the treasurer of the Cornwall Archaeological Society which she joined after taking an interest in metal detecting. She also worked on the Heligan garden project before it became the tourist attraction that it is today and this is where she also met her husband.
Teresa joined Geoscience after working in local government and the construction industry. She's been part of Geoscience for 18 years, with a break in the middle to have her daughter. Teresa makes sure that our accounts and projects run smoothly, Outside of work she enjoys sailing, rowing, tennis, cycling, walking and gardening (when she can fit it all in!)
Sarah began work with Geoscience 23 years ago, originally as a stop gap until she decided on a “proper” career following a degree in Psychology. Her varied and sometimes challenging role in Reception means she'll turn her hand to most things, always greeting visitors with a smile. Sarah has a small farm and over the years has raised cattle, pigs, turkeys as well as growing lots of veg. She also has a passion for motorcycles and helping her son with tricky homework.
Visual communication & outreach
Suzie joined GeoScience in 2013 after teaching Design Technology and Graphics in local secondary schools for a few years. She has a Honours Degree in Design and loves being creative. She was heavily involved in the United Downs Deep Geothermal Power project from 2017 - 2020 and created all of the visual communications for the team as well as designing and delivering the education and outreach programmes. She has used her creative skills to design an interesting piece on the front of our building (this can be seen on our blog page). Suzie loves the outdoors, plays tennis when she has the time and has two young girls to keep her busy!
Receptionist & GSHP Assistant
Lauren has been with the company since January 2018. She has a degree in Coaching and Physical Education along with her PGCE, but decided on a change of career. She is the ‘library’ of the company and keeps all of the jobs in our document control system, she is also PA to one of the managing directors and part of the reception team. Lauren is passionate about exploring the Cornish coastline and loves finding new places to explore, she enjoys playing Netball and going to the gym. When she’s not spending time with her family and friends you might find her chilling in the garden with her two adorable cats!
Sue has been providing computer support services to GeoScience since 1992, after 10 years with the Hot Dry Rocks Project at Rosemanowes Quarry. She graduated with a Honours Degree (majoring in Mathematics) and has been a software engineer for most of her career. Sue dabbles in a variety of sports and activities; including tennis and soft martial arts, plays piano, and always has a craft project on the go. Sue enjoys travel, seeking out inspirational architecture and wonders of the natural world, and delights in spending all available time with her children and grandchildren.
