With 20 years experience in the industry, Tom brings a wealth of experience to a wide variety of heat pump applications, especially ground source (GSHP).
Tom graduated from Swansea University in 1994 with a first class degree in Civil Engineering. He then completed a PhD investigating novel joining techniques to reduce the weight of automotive structures. This involved experimental tests of representative components, finite element (FE) analysis and a range of statistical analyses. He then qualified as a maths teacher and taught at a secondary school in Devon for 3 years.
Tom joined GeoScience in 2004 and then EarthEnergy (the GSHP daughter company of GeoScience). In EarthEnergy he gained experience in sales/statistical analysis/data handling and a variety of techniques and software for the design of GSHP systems.
He re-joined the GeoScience team in 2011, mostly designing GSHP systems but with some work using his FE experience on the several deep geothermal projects the GeoScience geology department were consulting on.
