Accurate knowledge of the 3D stress state is essential for an optimised field development strategy, from well planning through production to abandonment.
Our geomechanics experts will determine the 3D in situ stress state around your wells by building a geomechanical model using your well data and calibrating it to offset well drilling experience. This model can then be used as the basis for geomechanical assessments such as wellbore stability, sanding production, and compaction and subsidence.
Understanding of the 3D stress state also facilitates reservoir characterisation, to determine the effect of structure on the reservoir, and to optimise flow paths.
